Who is a rebellious woman?
A rebellious woman is a woman who rebels against God by rebelling against authority, she rebels against her parents, she rebels against Church leadership, she rebels against her husband, this rebellious attitude makes her a rebel against God.
What is a rebellious man? All the above but one.
Satan is the god of this world.
2 Corinthians 4:4
in whose case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving, that they might not see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.
1 John 5:19
We know that we are of God, and the whole world lies in the power of the evil one.
Many women of our day have played right into the deceivers hands once again by rejecting Gods direction and believing a lie.
1 Timothy 2:14
And it was not Adam who was deceived, but the woman being quite deceived, fell into transgression.
The reason this subject is so important is because it is a dead give away what a person thinks of the Word of God when you see how he or she handles this subject.
The problem in our day is that many women are militant even though it may be covered with apparent Christian love. The attitude is anti-God anti-Bible and anti-Biblical Marriage.
To suggest to many women to look at what the Bible says about women, they automatically think we are trying to place them back in the dark-ages.
Men often times are even worse in their sheepish dispositions and effeminate spirit. Rather than a love for truths, they make the same mistake Adam made in caressing the woman rather than the words of God. It should be obvious to all that are honest that many Churches of our day are not run by men at all but by women behind the scenes. They create churches that are primarily pleasing to themselves rather than pleasing to God. The depth of the deception is off the charts.

Different rolls and responsibilities
Women can be a great support to their husbands if they are not being controllers or manipulators.
Women are extremely important to God. To say men are better than women is wrong. But to deny they have different roles and responsibilities within God’s plan is ridiculous. Just as we can see the Father, Son and Holy Spirit have different roles and responsibilities with not one being better than the other, so we see in marriage.
The woman’s role should not be one of competition with the man or resentment of the mans role in God’s plan. It certainly should not be one of attempting to rearrange the Scriptures to homogenize the different positions into one.
The Christian woman’s attitude should be: “What does the Bible say about the role God has for me?
Through God’s grace let me be what you want me to be Lord”.
Luke 22:42
saying, “Father, if Thou art willing, remove this cup from Me; yet not My will , but Thine be done.”
John 6:38
“For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me.

Looking to the Bible:
We see in Genesis 2:24 that the two are to become one flesh, indicating that God’s plan was for each man to have his own wife and each wife to have her own husband, the two becoming one flesh.
Genesis 2:24
For this cause a man shall leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave to his wife; and they shall become one flesh.
Genesis 3:16
To the woman He said,”I will greatly multiply Your pain in childbirth, In pain you shall bring forth children; Yet your desire shall be for your husband, And he shall rule over you.”
We see in 1 Corinthians 11:3:
But I want you to understand that Christ is the head of every man, and the man is the head of a woman, and God is the head of Christ.

We are living in a day that many Christians have little regard for absolutes. Holding to sound Bible doctrines goes over like a lead balloon. They attempt to undermine the word of God to please there own desires. To believe almost anything with certainty places you under suspicion in their eyes unless it’s music, prayer, worship and family fun.
2 Timothy 4:3-4
For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance to their own desires; 4) and will turn away their ears from the truth, and will turn aside to myths.
Many of the Christian leaders have made the Bible out to be so complicated that people sincerely believe: “they just can’t know”.
It’s all so relative, is the great lie of our day.

As a result of the fall, we see many things change in relationship to God’s intent before the fall.
As a result of the sin of Adam and Eve and the judgment of God, we see a chain of male rule in Bible history right up to our present time.
For instance, God has almost always used men to represent Him on the planet earth. All the writers in Scripture are men. All positions of authority rest on men.
The Scriptures do mention the ministries of the Virgin Mary, Deborah, Esther, Elizabeth, Mary Magdalene, etc. Almost everywhere we see women in the New Testament it is a positive picture of love, faith devotion.
The Rev.Charlie Caverno M.A., D.D., LL.D.
The International Standard Bible Encyclopedia pg. 863
“The marriage relation from the standpoint of Hebrew legislation was looked upon very largely as a business affair, a mere question of property.”

This was the way of God’s people.
Things are different today as a result of the New Covenant.
For example: Ephesians 5:25
We know in heaven there is neither going to be marrying or the giving in marriage. We will all be one in Christ.
Matthew 22:30
“For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage , but are like angels in heaven.
However, as for now, the Bible indicates a pattern for men and women that all should want to follow.
For example:….. Ephesians 5:22-24
Wives, be subject to your own husbands, as to the Lord. 23) For the husband is the head of the wife, as Christ also is the head of the Church, He Himself being the Savior of the body. 24) But as the church is subject to Christ, so also the wives ought to be to their husbands in everything.

We are going to look at a few more Biblical examples.
What is God’s intention and plan for women?
1 Corinthians 14:34 “Let the woman keep silent in the Churches; for they are not permitted to speak.”
1 Corinthians 14:38 “But if any one does not recognize this, he is not recognized.
1 Timothy 2:11-14
”Let a woman quietly receive instruction with entire submissiveness.
12) But I do not allow a woman to teach or exercise authority over a man, but remain quiet. 13) For it was Adam who was first created and then Eve. 14) And it was not Adam who was deceived, but the woman being quite deceived, fell into transgression”.
This is not to say women are not important to God or that women are not valuable to His plan for the human race. We are only saying as a result of the fall women have been placed in a different role than men.
Women are the main strength that ministers to the youth within many Churches. The Churches need Godly women serving, teaching and molding the young into good Christians. They should be held with the greatest respect and appreciation. There are many wonderful ways God uses women.
What do you love the most, God and His word or your own personal desires? This is a tough area for most women. But ignoring it or to manipulate the Scriptures is dangerous ground.
These are not negative verses against women but the Word of God.
Man has a great deal of responsibility in his role towards the woman. And if he does not use his position correctly there are going to be problems. The woman’s foremost desire should be to please God through her faithfulness to the Word of God.
A big mistake is made when people mystically come up with non-Bible views wrapped in apparent “Christian Love,” making these Biblical principles of no real value in our present day.
Bible principles were established for good reason.
Two great mistakes are made:
(1) To label someone “legalistic” for placing current day application on these verses.
(2) To assume the person placing current day application on these verses is mis-using the verses.
A man of God should not have to apologize for these verses being in the Bible, nor be afraid to implement his God given position.
If a woman is bent on living in rebellion, you won’t change her.
It is Biblically wrong for the woman to have the attitude of:
“I will be submissive only when I think my husband is treating me right or when he has better ideas than I do.”

Re. women running the churches. I have had more serious problems with these kinds of women than any other in the local churches I have served. Almost all of them have passive husbands who refuse to take leadership in their homes.
I have asked women in counselling, ‘are you submissive to your husband?’ ‘No. He is ______.’ Then I say, ‘so you have two problems. He is not what he should be, and you are disobedient to God’s word.’

A Godly woman living submissively with her husband can count on God correcting him, if he is out of order. There is nothing wrong with her being submissive and at the same time reminding him of Godly principles. (Praying that God might change him).
Dr. Duane Dunham,
Professor NT Greek and Exegesis, Western Conservative Baptist Seminary, 29 years:
[Caution: this does not mean a woman should do something illegal, immoral, or submit to abuse. Remember the woman who stood by while her husband beat their child to death and said she was being submissive, as Bill Gothard had taught.]

In conclusion:
God says:
Genesis 3:16 “And he shall rule over you”.
Bible examples:
God almost always used Men to represent Him.
Jesus:
Picked 12 apostles....not 6 apostles and 6 apostlets.
Paul said:
1 Corinthians 11:3
But I want you to understand that Christ is the head of every man, and the man is the head of a woman, and God is the head of Christ.
Timothy says:
1 Timothy 2:11-14
”Let a woman quietly receive instruction with entire submissiveness.
12) But I do not allow a woman to teach or exercise authority over a man, but remain quiet. 13) For it was Adam who was first created and then Eve. 14) And it was not Adam who was deceived, but the woman being quite deceived, fell into transgression”.
Peter says:
1 Peter 3:7
You husbands likewise, live with your wives in an understanding way, as with a weaker vessel, since she is a woman; and grant her honor as a fellow-heir of the grace of life, so that your prayers may not be hindered.
Ephesians 5:25
Husbands, loves your wives, just as Christ also loved the Church and gave Himself up for her;
Evangelical Dictionary of Theology - Elwell - page 695
Does not this raise difficulties with the Biblical doctrine of subordination of married women (Eph. 5:22-23)? Not at all. This doctrine refers to a hierarchy of function, not of dignity or value. There is no inferiority of person implicit in the doctrine. God has designated a hierarchy of responsibility, hence authority, within the family, and he has done so according to the order of creation.
So the woman’s choice is to adhere to God’s desires for her, or to be in rebellion. It’s that simple folks. Man is responsible to treat his wife correctly and not abuse her. He is not to be lording over her or Bible bashing her. Some might ask the question “what is bible bashing”? I will give you just one example, another book could be written just on this subject.
Bible Bashing
We had a member of one of our study groups that when his wife’s mother would call the house and ask to speak to her daughter, he would ask “what is this in regard to”? The mother would say, “It’s my daughter, I just want to talk to her.” “What are you intending to talk to her about, he would ask”? As bazaar as this may seem, he felt it was his God given right as the husband and the head of his home to screen all his wife’s, calls. The mother, a fine Christian woman had to pray for grace. Fortunately we found out about it and set the young man straight. I am really tempted to go on and on with these kinds of stories, they are both entertaining and sad at the same time. OK, just one more, another head of his home, in order to make some extra money, rented out rooms in his home to three different families at the same time, without talking to his wife first. He just expected her to be the submissive wife.
We are in marriage as we are in Christ and freedom is precious.
1 Peter 3:1
In the same way, you wives, be submissive to your own husbands so that even if any of them are disobedient to the word, they may be won without a word by the behavior of their wives,
Hebrews 13:4
Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the marriage bed be undefiled; for fornicators and adulterers God will judge.
