Or a preacher may resign himself, as the best Bible preachers did, to suffer malice, reproach and ridicule of wicked
sinners and worldly church men, and continue to faithfully preach. The third course open is to leave the ministry, and hundreds of preachers have done it, not having the fortitude to face continual opposition, and yet with too much conscience and honesty to compromise Christ and dilute His message.

It is the first principle of the gospel to know for certainty the character of God. Far too often both groups and individuals such as those at homosexual marches, abortion demonstrations, cultic-religious groups, and non-religious humanitarian groups are found holding signs with slogans such as, “Jesus Loves Me This I Know, For The Bible Tells Me So,” “God Loves Me,” “Nothing Can Separate Us From The Love God.”

The purpose of this paper is to inform people that this simply is not true. If I tell an unsaved, unrepentant person that God personally loves him when he does not it becomes a serious crime against the very character of God Himself. We believe that this offense is committed by most Christian people on a regular basis to the non-Christian world. It is my hope that this section will put and end to this terrible, horrible, misrepresentation of the character of God.

The attempt to circumvent the sovereignty of God and be free of guilt takes subtle forms. Not everyone forcefully denies the existence of God. Rather God’s nature is reshaped into a deity whose only attribute is love. God is stripped of His justice and sovereignty; he is left clad only with a maudlin kind of love wrath, that makes no demands. This kind of God requires no repentance, but exhibits a kind of love that means “never having to say that you are sorry.” This Stripped, Weak, Helpless God Is The God Of A Very Popular American Religion, But It Is Not Christianity. QUESTION: What is God’s character really like regarding unrepentant sinners?

WRONG:
God loves the sinner but hates the sin.

RIGHT:
God sends both the sinner and his sin to Hell.
Note: If God separates the sin from the sinner; why doesn’t God throw the sin into hell and let the sinner into heaven? The Bible clearly shows these two to be inseparable, apart from redemption.

WHAT DOES THE BIBLE SAY?

But transgressors and sinners will be crushed together, and those who

God’s attitude towards those he destroys:

The wicked plots against the righteous, and gnashes at him with his teeth. 13 The Lord laughs at him; for He sees his day is coming.

Psalms 2:4-5
He who sits in the heavens laughs, the Lord scoffs at them. 5 Then He will speak to them in His anger and terrify them in His fury:

Proverbs 1:26-28
I will even laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your dread comes, 27) When your dread comes like a storm, and your calamity comes on like a whirlwind, when distress {and} anguish come on you. 28) “Then they will call on me, but I will not answer; they will seek me diligently, but they shall not find me,

God can only take pleasure in that which is in conformity to His Holy Nature. Judgment on unrepentant men is in conformity with the Royal Law. For example, a righteous judge can go home with a smile on his face because he has executed fair and just judgment in the courts.

Hence...at this point...the Holy spirit hates it, and this is indeed an ominous hatred. Thus the Psalm also states:
”I hate them with perfect hatred.” (139:22). When the Holy Spirit begins to hate and to be angry, eternal death follows.

”But the wicked and him that loveth violence His soul hateth.” If you think God is just lovey-dovey, you had better read this (Ps. 11:5) and some of the other Psalms again.

God hates the wicked who hold on to their wickedness.

I don’t think God loves the devil. I think God hates him, and He hates those who have no intention of turning to God. Frankly I do not like this distinction that I hear today that, “God loves you who persist in your sin, and continue in that sin, you are the enemy of God. And God is your enemy.

Yahweh takes no pleasure in wickedness and does not dwell with evil (or evil man). Insolent, boasting people have no position at all in the presence of Yahweh, who hates all “doers of sin.”

What should the Christian attitude be toward workers of iniquity?

1. A desire to properly communicate God’s attitude towards them.

2. To follow, by example, the holy men of God as revealed in the Bible.

Prof. B. B. Edwards says in substance, that resentment against
evil-doers is so far from being sinful, that we find it exemplified in the meek and spotless Redeemer Himself (Mark 3:5).
If emotion and utterance were essentially sinful, how could Paul wish the enemy of Christ to be accursed (“anathema” I Cor. 16:22); or say to his own enemy, Alexander the coppersmith, “The Lord reward him according to his words” (II Tim. 4:14); and especially how could the spirits of the just in heaven call on God for vengeance (Rev. 6:10)?
